Chief Executive Martyn Evans to speak at Christie Commission event

02/09/2011
The Chief Executive of Carnegie UK Trust, Martyn Evans, is one of the keynote speakers at “Public Sector Reform - A Roadmap for Change” which takes place on Friday 7 October 2011.

The event is being run by the Christie Commission which is headed by Dr Campbell Christie.  The Commission delivered its verdict on Scotland’s future public sector landscape in a hard hitting report published at the end of June.

The Christie Commission advocates that the key to a successful reform of public service delivery is putting the people who use services at the heart of that agenda.  It believes that the Third sector has a significant contribution to make, both in helping drive that cultural change and innovation, and in ensuring the voices of service users are heard.  Christie’s recommendations are for a radical cultural rethink on how Scotland’s public sector landscape is designed and identifies the Third sector as having a vital and key role in that shift.

The event “Public Sector Reform - A Roadmap for Change” event will take place at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh.  This is the first and only public opportunity to hear from the report’s author, Dr Campbell Christie, on the thinking behind its recommendations.  For more information click here.
