With a degree in law and politics, Liz has taught politics, worked as a researcher for a lawyer, and toyed with becoming a solicitor, but for the last 18 years has worked on various social policy issues at Consumer Focus Scotland. Recent areas of work have included consumer health information strategy, consumer representation in public service development, and the challenges and opportunities presented by an ageing population.   Liz managed a successful project based in Consumer Focus Scotland - Health Rights Information Scotland - which is funded by the Scottish Government and provides high quality information for the public about their rights in relation to their healthcare.

Liz has a keen interest in cultural life in Scotland, and is actively involved in musical activities in her spare time, singing with a chamber choir and playing the violin and viola.
